Diagnose and evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer treatment programs.
Conduct patient interviews in clinics, hospitals, and other settings; review medical and social case histories.
Observe patients in various situations; administer and interpret intelligence, personality, or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate treatment plans.
Provide consultation to other mental health professionals based on test results.
Treat psychological disorders to improve adjustments using various psychological techniques; determine appropriate treatment approaches and plan the frequency, intensity, and duration of therapies.
Assess patient progress and adjust treatment programs accordingly; communicate with and counsel family members as appropriate.
Document therapy sessions in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records, ensuring patient confidentiality.
Provide crisis intervention for immediate psychological treatment needs.
Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and stay current with methodologies and techniques.
Promote and provide Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment to FDA-indicated patients in the clinic.
Offer psychological consultations to other mental health professionals within hospitals, clinics, and community-based agencies concerning patient care.
Develop and implement clinical research programs as needed.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
